Not three days after we got back from Barbados, I was off again. Once again, work took me away from home, this time to the wonderful city of San Francisco. This was actually my first time visiting the Bay Area, so of course I **had** to skip away from my meetings once or twice to get some photography in.
Some of my favourites from the trip are below. I had my Canon 5D Mark II and 35L and 85L lenses with me, along with my trusty Voigtlander Bessa R3A with Nokton 40 f/1.4 mounted. I’m loving the Bessa more and more everyday. I’ve noted below which photos are taken on film (and which film was used, in case you’re that nerdy).
High above North America (somewhere over Colorado, I think). Shot on Kodak Ektar 100
My visit corresponded with the start of the ‘Occupy San Francisco‘ rally, which was going on right outside my downtown hotel.
Ilford XP2 Super (my new favourite film…just tremendously good stuff)
Naturally I took some time away from the meetings to do some walking
I spent a lot of time in Chinatown, which is very impressive. I managed to order my entire lunch in Cantonese. The restaurant ladies were suitably impressed.
Ilford XP2
More from downtown.
And here are a few random shots, all shot on film.
Ilford XP2
And some Kodak Portra 400 (which is tied with Ektar 100 for my favourite colour negative film).
Mike, I will always be impressed with how render images. It’s all fantastic work (and I am insanely jealous).
